WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - An affidavit released this week indicates that the passenger in a hit-and-run crash that killed 14-year-old pedestrian Jackson Nzabonimpa urged the driver, Gauge Brasher, to slow down.

The affidavit said that Logan Bunch, a front seat passenger in a BMW who ultimately ran from the scene, told police that Brasher was driving more than 100 mph before the crash on Aug. 11 and running every red light.

“Bunch stated he was telling Brasher to slow down but (Brasher) refused,” the affidavit reads.

Bunch had been released from prison eight hours before the crash and was drunk after drinking at home with Brasher, so running from the scene was his first thought.
