Deven Vigue couldn’t wait to call the first play of the 2025 season.
Prairie’s senior quarterback had been waiting six months to call it.
Vigue took the first snap of the game and broke free for an 80-yard touchdown run to give the Falcons an early lead en route to 46-44 win over Ridgefield on Friday.
“We’ve been drawing it up all week,” Vigue said. “We knew we were going to call it. I actually talked to my coach about that in the spring. We’ve been saving that play since spring. … Hit the hole, break one tackle, and it’s gone from there.”
It set the tone for a big night for Vigue, who rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns and passed for 190 yards and three touchdowns.
