SCHANTZENFELD, SK
The Priebes of Swift Current, Saskatchewan were shocked to discover that a prominent highway between their city and the tiny darp of Schantzenfeld, was actually nothing more than a gravel road. This discovery was made after the Priebes ventured outside the big city for the first time in decades.
“Figured it was time to visit the old farm house,” said Judy. “Diewel, if I’d known we’d be travelling by gravel, I would have taken the F-150 instead of the Civic.”
The Priebes ventured south of Swift Current on “Highway” 625, then turned left on “Highway” 721 before reaching Schantzenfeld.
“I never knew our fair province had such a liberal definition of “highway,”” said Priebe. “Must have been sometime when the NDP were in charge.”
