A controversial Leicestershire development dubbed a "health hazard" has been approved in spite of concerns over flooding. Residents had said the floods "weren't minor", but officials still greenlit the scheme.

Maxi Property Development's 14-home plan for land north of Sycamore Way in Littlethorpe was a reduction of a previously proposed 46-home plan for the site, then comprising 32 open market and 14 affordable properties . A decision on the reduced 14-home plan was deferred in July by Blaby District Council (BDC) as the council sought more information from the developer relating to future flood risk.
