LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville firefighters worked to extinguish an apartment fire early Tuesday morning in the Shawnee neighborhood.
At about 5:40 a.m., Louisville Fire Department (LFD) crews responded to a structure fire at a vacant two-story residential apartment located in the 300 block of South 41st Street, according to an LFD news release.
Firefighters arrived on scene within minutes, encountering a working fire on the second floor of the building. They used multiple hand lines to extinguish the flames.
It took 32 firefighters approximately 20 minutes to bring the fire under control at approximately 6 a.m.
No injuries were reported and the structure was vacant, authorities said. The fire also did not spread to other nearby properties.
