MONROE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A Monroe Police Officer is being praised for his efforts in saving someone having a cardiac arrest.

On August 29, someone was suffering a cardiac arrest in the parking lot of a local medical office. That person was also a patient at the facility, officials said.

Officers reportedly arrived at the scene before EMS. Officer Niklas Tarczynski quickly relieved a physician who was doing CPR.

Thanks in part to the quick response of Officer Tarczynski, the patient survived, and as of the most recent update, is hospitalized and breathing on his own.
