Of the 13 teams that have won an NCAA title this century, it seems none have the kind of setup Kentucky is looking to explore.

The University of Kentucky approved the first step toward a new basketball practice facility Tuesday.

Champions Blue LLC , a holding company containing UK Athletics , had a Board of Governor's meeting, during which athletics director Mitch Barnhart asked for a resolution of support for a study and pre-design of a multi-use facility. This would be anchored by a basketball practice facility and include a UK Healthcare sports and orthopedic ambulatory center along with a sports medicine research component.
