TYLER, Texas — Jury deliberations are underway for a man convicted of shooting and killing a Tyler taqueria owner last October.
Scotty Lee Goble, of Frost, was convicted Monday of murder in the death of Heriberto “Eddie” Ramirez Jr., 38, of Tyler. Ramirez, co-owner of Junior’s Taqueria, was shot in the restaurant’s parking lot on Oct. 11, 2024. Goble pleaded not guilty on Aug. 26, and his attorneys argued self-defense.
An argument began over a drink order and escalated when Goble’s son, Justin Goble, slammed a door. Goble then placed his 9-month-old child in a car seat near the door, and a fight broke out in the parking lot. Goble pulled out a gun and shot Ramirez.
The sentencing phase started Tuesday. Jurors are discussing what Goble's sentence should be.
