FARGO (KVRR/KFGO) – Another defendant has been sentenced for his role in a brutal assault in downtown Fargo last year that left two men severely injured.
John Hernandez was found guilty of two counts of aggravated assault and one count of accomplice to aggravated assault for the beating. One of the victims suffered broken bones in his face.
A judge sentenced Hernandez to five years in prison with credit for time already served. He must first serve nearly 3.5 years before he will be eligible for release. The assault happened when the two victims tried breaking up a fight on n-p avenue west of broadway on April 6, 2024.
Hernandez is the sixth defendant sentenced in the case. The sixth and final defendant is scheduled for trial in November.
