SPANISH LAKE, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The St. Louis County Police Department is investigating after human remains were found in Spanish Lake on Tuesday morning.

According to police, the remains were found in the 800 block of Strodtman Road, in the Columbia Bottom Conservation Area.

Officers with the North County Precinct responded to a call for human remains found around 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, and located the remains.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, and the investigation is active at this time.
