A problem with cleaning fluid or the way it was mixed has caused problems overnight at the local Walmart Store here in Jasper.
The volunteers of the Jasper Fire Department were dispatched to the store in the 800 block of West Gibson Street, shortly before 2:00 on Tuesday morning when it was reported that the strong presence of chemical odors has set off a smoke detector.
Jasper Fire Chief Brandon Duckworth said that upon their arrival firemen soon determined that the strong irritating smell or odor was coming from a machine used to clean floors. Duckworth said he was not sure what happened but that it could have been that the chemicals in the machine were mixed wrong.
