President Donald Trump ‘s new comments have critics scratching their heads.
While delivering remarks at the Museum of the Bible, Trump on Monday touted his federal takeover of Washington, D.C. — claiming that crime is down “more than” 87%, or “virtually nothing,” before pivoting.
“And much lesser things ... Things that take place in the home they call crime. You know, they’d do anything they can to find something,” Trump said.
“If a man has a little fight with the wife, they say, ‘This was a crime,’ see. So now I can’t claim 100%,” he continued.
A number of social media users questioned Trump’s remarks — with many accusing him of downplaying domestic violence.
“It’s not even noon on Monday and the president of the United States has endorsed domestic violence,” Democratic strategis
