PROSPECT HEIGHTS — A PROCESSION OVER THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE AND A MASS WILL BE HELD FOR the Fire Department of New York’s Battalion 57 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph, one of two diocesan sees, at noon on Thursday, Sept. 11. Prior to the mass, members of the FDNY’s Battalion 57 in Brooklyn will lead a procession from Manhattan to the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph on Pacific Street in Prospect Heights. The firefighters will carry 25 flags: one American flag and 24 FDNY flags to represent the 23 members of Battalion 57 who died that day and a battalion member’s brother who also lost his life in the attacks on the World Trade Center.
