A six-month long drug trafficking investigation has led to the charges being laid against a Calgary man, police say.
A man was involved in a traffic stop on Monday, Jan. 27, according to police, and raised suspicion that he may be involved in drug trafficking. The next month, an officer with the District 1 patrol team launched an investigation into the man with the help of Alberta Sheriffs.
The investigation progressed, and officers executed a search warrant in mid-August at a house associated with the suspect on 11 Avenue SE.
The search resulted in the seizure of cocaine, methamphetamine, cocaine capsules, a digital weigh scale, drug paraphernalia, packaging material, five cellphones, identity documents, more than $40,000 in Canadian currency, and a small amount of American money.
