South Beach Civic Association’s barbecue plays to a crowd of 260 on the boardwalk

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — It was a time to mix, mingle and honor five community partners who make Staten Island a better place.

The South Beach Civic Association hosted its 23rd Educational Fundraising Event in the Grand Ballroom of the Vanderbilt on the South Beach Boardwalk.

Recognized during the annual event were: Lynda M. Thomson, Susan Chew, Franco Ortega, NYPD Deputy Inspector Luigi Carrubba and Joel Bibula.

Also in attendance were a number of community leaders, business owners, and elected officials who’ve supported the group since its inception: Senator Jessica Scarcella-Spanton, Assemblymen Sam Pirozzolo and Michael Tannousis and representatives from other government officials.
