CLEVELAND — The city of has received clearance from the U.S. Department of Transportation to begin spending funds from a nearly $60 million grant for the North Coast Connector project, the ambitious plan reimagining the downtown area's connection to the lakefront.
On Oct. 16, 2024, the city announced that it received $59.7 million from the Transportation Department's Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) grant program. Officials stated that the funding from the INFRA program will be used to "support the transformation of key sections of State Route 2 into a pedestrian-friendly boulevard."
Now those funds can start being spent.
