THE Colorado Buffaloes are set for a major change as a third string star is promoted to become a starter.

Head coach Deion Sanders , 58, has been tipped to make the change ahead of Friday's visit to Houston.

It is the two-time Super Bowl winner's third season in charge of the college.

Ryan Staub is set to take over as a starter for the Buffaloes as they head into their third week of action.

The third-year sophomore will replace Kaidon Salter, 22, at quarterback.

Staub performed well against Delaware last Saturday as the Buffaloes recorded a 31-7 win.

He completed seven of his ten passes against the Fightin' Blue Hens, making 157 yards.

His two touchdowns against Delaware triples his overall record for Colorado .
