BUFFALO, N.Y. — Michael Robinson, 33, of Buffalo, has been sentenced to serve two years of probation and six months home detention for conspiring to steal mail.

U.S. Attorney Franz M. Wright says on Oct. 2, 2024, around 1 a.m., Robinson drove co-defendants Lamor Runell Bolden and Antonio Jones, Jr. to a postal facility in Cheektowaga to steal from mailboxes.

U.S. Attorney Wright says Robison parked behind a row of blue collection boxes outside of the facility and kept watch while Jones opened mailboxes with a stolen key.

After leaving the scene, their car was stop by police, who saw several pieces of opened and unopened mail.

U.S. Attorney Wright says Robinson admits that he and his co-conspirators used the stolen key to open mailboxes at other locations around Western New York.
