BENNINGTON – Six former Select Board members attended a meeting Monday to praise the work of developer Zak Hale in pushing through the complex and challenging $55 million Benn High redevelopment project.

“We are gathered here tonight as former Select Board members, who while on the board, were part of the process of getting the Benn High project across the finish line,” said Jeanne Conner. “We are not here to pat ourselves on the back, but to publicly thank Zak Hale for his courage and determination to give Bennington and its residents this tremendous and transformative gift.”

She added, “Members of the current Select Board were also part of this journey, and I know the majority of them are filled with gratitude also.”
