TOWN OF NICHOLS, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - A Sayre man dies in a single motorcycle crash on South Main Street in the Town of Nichols.

At approximately 1AM on September 6th, a report of a motorcycle crash was made to the Tioga County 911 Center. New York State Police responded to the report on South Main Street in the Town of Nichols.

Upon arrival troopers found Donald Lynn Archibald and a Suzuki motorcycle with heavy damage. Archibald was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation of the single motorcycle accident shows that the motorcycle had gone off the road striking a utility pole. Archibald was ejected from the motorcycle.

Police say the reason for the motorcycle going off the road is unknown.
