The Tennessee Titans played the Denver Broncos tough on Sunday, before falling 20-12 in their season opener. Tennessee could have made the game even more interesting had head coach Brian Callahan challenged a pass play that was called incomplete.

With the Titans trailing 13-12 and facing a first-and-20 late in the third quarter, rookie quarterback Cam Ward connected with fellow rookie Elic Ayomanor for what would have been a 20-plus yard gain.

The pass was ruled incomplete, but replays showed that Ayomanor’s right elbow landed in bounds. Still, Tennessee didn’t challenge the call. After the game, Callahan was asked why the Titans didn’t challenge when it looked like Ayomanor’s elbow hit in bounds.
