British folk musician Dolly Mavies has spoken out after she and her band walked out of their own show after hearing Vice President JD Vance might be in attendance.

Mavies, whose real name is Molly Davies, spoke to the BBC about the “overwhelming sense of support” she has received after the decision to walk out of her Aug. 11 show.

“I think for a lot of American people there’s a lot of uncertainty, and a lot of people are scared, and it was amazing to feel like they’d been heard,” she told the BBC.

Mavies initially announced the reason why she and her band decided to leave the show in a now viral TikTok on Aug. 13.
