Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter has been punished by the NFL for spitting on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott during Philadelphia’s 24-20 win over Dallas in Week 1. But it won’t sideline him for any additional games.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Tuesday, Carter will have to pay a $57,222 fine.
“After talking to the Eagles, the NFL and the NFLPA, Jalen has decided not to appeal and focus on the Chiefs game,” Carter’s agent Drew Rosenhaus told Schefter.
Carter’s actions got him ejected before the first play of Thursday night’s game. Afterward, he publicly apologized and promised to not do it again.
But showing remorse didn’t get Carter out of trouble.
