NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that the San Francisco 49ers are bringing in veteran kicker Eddy Pineiro for a workout after waiving Jake Moody.
Pineiro was with the New York Jets and the 49ers’ current special teams coordinator, Brant Boyer, in 2021. That season, Pineiro made all eight of his kicks, including going 3-for-3 from 40-49 yards, and his one kick over 50 yards.
Pineiro spent the previous three seasons with the Carolina Panthers. In 2024, Pineiro made 22 of his 26 kicks. He was 1-for-2 from 50+, making a 43-yarder. He was 6-for-8 from 40-49 yards, and also missed one kick from 30-39 yards. Pineiro went 33-for-35 on extra point attempts.
