Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the driver of a vehicle that struck a juvenile on a bicycle Tuesday morning and fled the scene.

West Hartford Police said a juvenile was struck by a vehicle in the area of Albany Avenue and Lindy Lane on Tuesday morning in an hit-and-run incident.

The incident was reported at 7:01 a.m. on Tuesday, and members of the West Hartford Police Department, West Hartford Fire Department, and other emergency medical personnel responded to the scene.

The victim was a juvenile male, Capt. Aaron Vafiades said, and he was “alert and conscious upon arrival of emergency services.” The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.
