SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - A Sioux City man pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography on Tuesday.

38-year-old Daniel Kaler, of Sioux City, pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography in federal court on Tuesday.

Police say Kaler admitted to receiving and possessing over 7,000 images and videos of child pornography between November 2023 to October 2024. The material included young children, including infants and toddlers.

Downloads were traced back to his account after a CyberTip was sent by Verizon’s cloud storage company to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.

Police seized his electronic devices and found that he used third-party browsers to search and download child pornography content.
