Action 8 News has confirmed that a well-known Montgomery nightspot has lost its food permit due to a recent health score.

1048 Jazz & Blues on East Fairview Avenue received a health score of 58, according to Ryan Easterling of the Alabama Department of Public Health.

Easterling said an Emergency Order of the Health Officer was issued, which suspended the food permit for 1048 Jazz and Blues on Friday, September 5, due to its score being below a 60.

He said when a permit is suspended for a score below 60, the Rules for Food Establishment Sanitation requirement for reopening is a score of 85 or above as long as there are no priority or priority foundation items on the inspection report.
