PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - The Multnomah County Health Department is warning the public of a potential asbestos exposure this summer in the Sellwood neighborhood.

The exposure is linked to the building that formerly housed Slow Pour Coffee & Bar at 8524 Southeast 17th Avenue, and a subsequent furniture giveaway in the neighborhood.

Officials say that on July 16 and from July 18-26 of this year, roofing renovations caused dust and debris to fall onto furniture and belongings in the coffee shop, and may have fallen onto customers.

Subsequent testing of the fallen dust and debris confirmed the presence of asbestos.
