Joplin city officials want to know what residents would prefer when the Pennsylvania Avenue bridge is torn down.
Plans are to demolish the old bridge near Seventh Street. It was built in 1929 and closed in 2019 after it was cited by state inspectors as unsafe for traffic or pedestrian use. But what comes next is still in question, and city officials are asking residents to tell them what they would prefer to see in the location. ×
