MERRILLVILLE — Employees from Zeigler Subaru of Schereville surprised 15 teachers at Salk Elementary School on Tuesday with a $7,500 donation to purchase needed supplies and materials.

This is the fifth year the car dealership has donated to teachers at the elementary school. It is part of the Subaru Loves Learning initiative in partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org , which provides teachers across the country with funding for school supplies and resources

"It's a wonderful feeling to know that we can make a difference, and you know what these teachers do ... day in and day out, to create the future of our community and these kids, it's a blessing, it's awesome," said Kyle Faiman, executive manager of Zeigler Subaru of Schereville
