WASHINGTON (WCAX) - Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders continues to push back against what he calls U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary RJK Junior’s crusade against vaccines.
“Vaccines have saved millions of lives. I know around here on the Capitol, we talk about millions and trillions. Millions of lives is a lot of people. That’s a lot of moms and dads who don’t have to bury their children,” Sanders said Tuesday during a press conference with doctors and public health experts.
Citing a study from The Lancet, Sanders said vaccines have saved the lives of more than 150 million people around the world and cut infant mortality rates by 40 percent in the last five decades.
