DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) - De Pere VFW Post 2113 and its Auxiliary are being recognized nationally for their outstanding service to veterans and the community.

The post was named among the top one percent of the 454 VFW Posts in Wisconsin as part of the VFW’s Still Serving campaign, which highlights veterans’ continued service after the military.

In the past year, Post 2113 raised more than $80,000 for veterans organizations through its annual benefit golf outing, collected over $11,000 in cash and food to provide 10,000 meals to those in need, and helped send school supplies and snacks to children of a local infantry battalion deployed overseas.

The group also organized the 6th Annual Wisconsin Unmet Needs Golf Outing, which raised over $7,000 to support youth education in De Pere.
