DUBLIN, Va. (WDBJ) - September is Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month . Although it’s not a tribute many people will recognize, one young man in Dublin celebrates it proudly.

Logan Smith hikes, exercises, skis, goes fishing and his personal favorite, scuba dives. Everything 27 year-old like him like enjoys to do. Smith just does thinks a little bit differently.

He’s in a wheelchair.

“We knew it would be different, be hard to figure out for a long time,” said Smith. “Sometimes [it] would be a lot more figuring out than we knew, but we decided that we’d still go live life and figure it out.”

Smith was in a major car accident when he was just 18 years old. He broke his neck and injured his spine, paralyzing him from the neck down. The doctors told him his life would be changing forever,
