What would you do if a disaster happened right now? – That's the question the American Red Cross is asking during National Preparedness Month.

Disasters can happen anytime, anywhere, and in many different forms -- and one spokesperson said it's best to be prepared for any type of situation.

"At the Red Cross, we respond to all different kinds of disasters. You have your major disasters you see on the news, your hurricanes, your wildfires, but the most common disaster that we respond to is a home fire. There are about 65,000 home fires that we respond to every single year," said Cristina Maisel, Regional Communications Manager, American Red Cross of Greater Pennsylvania.
