MADISON (WKOW) — Two people were arrested overnight after two separate crashes, with the second one involving a Monona police car.

A Dane County sheriff's deputy attempted a traffic stop on a Honda Accord Tuesday morning due to a mismatched license plate. That led to a chase on U.S. Highway 12, according to a Dane County Sheriff's Office press release.

After a short pursuit, the Honda crashed into a tree on Dempsey Road. The driver, identified as Tyrone J. Lettman, 47, of Windsor, then ran to a red Chrysler 300. The driver of that car then hit a Monona police car before ending up in a grassy marsh area off Milwaukee Street, according to law enforcement.
