MEDINA, Ohio — In the quiet hours before sunrise, George Baldwin is already awake . At 95 years old, his routine hasn’t slowed much, an early trip to the gym, a light breakfast, and always something to keep his hands busy.

“I've got to be doing something,” he says with a smile.

That simple rhythm has carried Baldwin through a life that is anything but ordinary.

Born in St. Louis in 1930 during the Great Depression, Baldwin grew up in modest times before serving four years in the Army. His work involved monitoring communications from North Korea, China, and the Soviet Union—an assignment that demanded precision and discipline, qualities that would shape his career to come.
