FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — Gratitude smack in the middle of grief. That's where we find the family of Courtney Rhodes after they learned that 22-year-old Mahat Salat was recently indicted in connection with her death.

"It's a good day for us right now and we're very, very happy. The smile on my face tells it all," said Courtney's aunt Stacy Collins.

Salat is charged with involuntary manslaughter, corrupting another with drugs and trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound.

According to an autopsy, Courtney overdosed on fentanyl last December. Her death came two weeks after she'd been booked into the James A. Karnes Corrections Center.

Salat is currently facing charges for felonious assault, possession of a deadly weapon and murder in unrelated cases.
