MARYSVILLE, Ohio — A Marysville woman is being recognized for surviving a motorcycle crash that could have taken her life — and the decision, she says, made all the difference.

Angel Jarrells was riding her motorcycle along Watkins Road in Union County on July 23 when she lost control going into a curve. Her bike veered off the road and her body skidded across a yard. She narrowly avoided hitting trees — striking a flower bed and bushes instead -- but she credits her helmet with saving her life.

"If I wasn't wearing this, who knows what would have happened,” Jarrells told 10TV. “I don't know if maybe I would've just taken damage to my head or I could've died. And I have a child at home, so I wanted to make sure I got back to him."
