BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Chances are, you’ve driven distracted and have seen others do the same. September is the worst month for distracted driving, and to combat it, the state is adding 16 new patrols.

State patrol officer William Brown sees his fair share of distracted drivers, but not usually when he’s on duty. He said people are much more likely to do it when they don’t see a patrol car, and wishes more people could prioritize safety.
