BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - During Monday night’s meeting, city commissioners approved an amended 2026 city budget. The preliminary budget was passed in late July .

The amendments to the budget include the hiring of an additional full-time Municipal Court Clerk to assist with an increasing case load, upon approval by the Bismarck budget committee, and the decision to freeze city commissioner salaries for 2026.

Additionally, Bismarck Airport Leadership announced an $8.6 million grant offer from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to help fund airport runway renovations. The commission voted to approve the grant funds.
