OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) — High Attendance Day celebrations were held throughout schools in Daviess County. In Kentucky, the celebration is a long-standing tradition meant to promote school attendance and students' academic success.
Burns Elementary school not only celebrated today but they are celebrating all week as a part of their Super September Month. To celebrate High Attendance Day, students and faculty dressed as their favorite superheroes for today’s theme “Superhero’s for High Attendance Day.”
The school’s faculty and community have planned a full month of super activities for students. They also incorporated the Kentucky Department of Education’s theme “You Belong Attendance Matters.”
