OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The COVID-19 pandemic took a toll on everyone but a new report shows young adults had the highest rates of loneliness, at 38% in December 2020.
The Nebraska Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights issued the report this week. It showed the pandemic has had an ongoing impact on the mental health of K-12 students and put a focus on the unique education challenges they faced, including teacher shortages.
First Alert 6 spoke with college students who remember going to school during that time. Many students at UNO says they remember the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Most were in middle school when shutdowns began.
