LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — A fire that broke out at Acapulco Campground in Lexington County left one person injured and caused significant property damage, according to local fire officials.

The Lexington County Fire Marshal confirmed the fire began on a wooden deck where a burn pit was located. Investigators say the flames quickly spread, driven by wind and intensified by the presence of propane tanks on the property. However, officials have ruled out a propane explosion as the cause of the blaze.

One person was injured in the fire and was airlifted to the Augusta Burn Center for treatment. Investigators say the burn pit was on the deck of the injured victim's property.
