ALBANY — A Glenville man has filed a federal lawsuit against New York State Police seeking millions in compensation following an encounter last year where he claims troopers entered his home without a warrant, assaulted him and then arrested him a day later after he threatened to file a civil suit.

Mark John, in a 12-page lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Albany last month, claims that troopers entered through the dining room window of his Ballston Lake home where he was living during the early morning hours of May 22, 2024. Police had their weapons drawn and claimed they were conducting a welfare check, according to the lawsuit.
