SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane County Board of Commissioners voted Preston McCollam as the new Spokane County Prosecuting Attorney on Tuesday afternoon.
Larry Haskell, who previously held the position for 10 years resigned in July, opening the position.
Three candidates were nominated for the position by the Spokane County Republican Party, following a procedure held by the Washington State Constitution, since Haskell was also of the Republican Party.
McCollam had been serving as the interim prosecuting attorney since Haskell's departure. Steve Garvin and Marshall Casey also interviewed for the role.
Garvin is currently the Assistant Attorney General at the Washington State Office of the Attorney General. Casey is a current attorney under Sweester Law Office of Spokane and previously own
