SALISBURY, N.C. — A man was arrested after a months-long investigation into inappropriate acts with children in Rowan County.

Michael King, 65, was arrested on Tuesday by the Salisbury Police Department. King faces charges of indecent liberties with a minor, second-degree rape, and rape by a custodian.

The incidents happened at multiple locations, including the Damascus Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, according to police.

King was arrested after a three-month investigation. He is being held in Rowan County jail with no bond.

“The hard work of our investigators in bringing this case forward deserves recognition," Salisbury Police Chief P.J. Smith said. "At the same time, it is profoundly concerning when a person in a position of trust is accused of violating that trust.”
