WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Families across the DMV are having trouble getting COVID-19 vaccines and boosters.

A delay in the CDC recommendation means some pharmacies are turning people away.

Some pharmacies require prescriptions from a doctor to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Typically, you can just walk in and get a shot, but now the complication has some worried about not only access but supply.

The FDA approved updated COVID-19 vaccines last month for all seniors, but only for younger adults and children who have at least one high-risk health condition.

"My son just started school, so obviously that's always ramping up exposure and whatnot. So usually I would like to have it by mid-October," said Lindsay Mosher.
