WORTHINGTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — Over the past several months, Worthington and its residents have dealt with a wide variety of sewage-related issues. On Tuesday, the town's Sewer Board met once again to discuss updates on the town's actions addressing those concerns.
Before the meeting even started, Mayor Deborah Heflin and a meeting attendee got into a heated exchange where the attendee expressed concerns about “toxic sewage” located in her basement.
Once the meeting started, updates were given on pump replacements and other infrastructure updates happening in the town.
Mayor Heflin noted during the meeting that sewer issue complaints have decreased. Information was also given to residents on how to file an insurance claim through the town in the event that they've been victims of property
