Near 90th and Boyd, disabled residents at Richland Independent Living have their own wheels, so no need for a ride to a convenience store a couple of blocks away.
Overgrowth onto a public bridge makes it hard for wheelchair users to come and go.
“All those are in the way and slap me in the face. I can’t move them out of the way because I can’t use my right arm,” said Beth Toro, who uses a wheelchair.
After a call, Omaha’s chief field inspector checked and said the overgrowth comes from the adjacent private property, but the city will send a crew to remove the hazard and decide later who’s responsible f
