Police chiefs attended the annual New England Association of Chiefs of Police conference in Mystic, Connecticut. This is the agency's 100th year and the training was focused on officer wellness on the job.
The event was led by Frank Frederickson, who was the police chief in Yarmouth when Sgt. Sean Gannon was killed in the line of duty.

"You are never ready for it, so the more we can prepare, the better we can all be together," Frederickson said.
The former chief said connecting police leadership to more resources can help the entire department: "There are some things we do collectively to really improve policing and show the public we are working hard and do a better job in what we do."
